Did you know that part of your KPGT
annual dues and donations to KPGT are
used for KPGT grants? Last year we
approved grants for several schools and
organizations which benefited hundreds
of gifted and talented students in the
Katy Independent School District.
KPGT grants included:
-
Funding for Alexander Elementary Space
Day (shared with Mayde Creek Elem.)
-
Books and building materials for
Griffin Elementary Challenge classes
-
Several sets of building materials for
Ms. Edge at McRoberts Elementary
-
Robotics equipment at Cinco Ranch High
School to assist with Super Saturday
classes
-
Our district-wide Architectural Dig site
for all Challenge students
-
Additional classes for Super Saturday
Do you have a great idea to improve
education for the gifted and talented
students in the Katy Independent School
District but need funds to implement
your idea?
Then
Katy Parents of the Gifted and Talented
would like to hear from you!
KPGT considers Grants submitted by
teachers, parents, students or staff
members. Some of the questions that the
Board Members will consider in deciding
which projects are funded are:
-
Will this project solve an existing
problem or meet a need that is not
currently being met?
-
Is there a clear idea of how the project
would work? (Timetable, details,
expenses?)
-
Does the project meet the guidelines of
our Mission Statement and the GT
curriculum?
-
How many students will benefit from the
project?
