KPGT is seeking parents of identified GT students who want to assume an active role in gifted education and issues. We need at least two parents from each KISD campus to serve as liaisons between KPGT and their campuses. While serving as a campus liaison, the opportunities for learning about giftedness and gifted education are immense.

One liaison from each campus will be invited to become a member of the KISD GT Parent Advisory Council. The Gifted and Talented Parent Advisory Council will serve as a conduit to share information and solicit feedback related to the Gifted and Talented Program in KISD. GT Facilitators at each campus will present an invitation to participate to one liaison at each campus.

Expectations of a KPGT Campus Liaison:

Serve as the communication link between KPGT, Challenge Teachers/GT Facilitator, Parents, and KISD

Help on an area of your interest within KPGT (such as Communications, Programs/Events, Super Saturday, Membership)

Participate in campus liaison committee meetings on the first Thursday of each month, 10 a.m.

Attend 3 GT Parent Advisory Council meetings (in the evening @ 6:30 p.m.).

(Only one invited liaison from each school)

Support your campus Challenge teacher or GT Facilitator

Promote KPGT membership and events

Establish a working relationship with your campus principal

Provide accurate information related to giftedness to parents and staff
